Building Permits & Inspections

The Building Permits Department will strive to assist you with your construction project in an efficient and accountable manner. They are responsible for permitting all construction.  The Building Permits Department is responsible for:

• Issuing building permits
• Reviewing building plans
• Working directly with the Planning and Zoning Commission

To obtain a permit for both residential and commercial uses, simply download the forms below or call City Hall at 641-762-3632 and we will be happy to provide you with the necessary forms.

Permit fee of $25.00 is due before permit will be reviewed.

If you are planning on doing any digging on your property, always call Iowa One Call at 800-292-8988 FIRST and have the utilities located for your property.
